He has served as the chair of the Washington region and former Secretary/Treasurer, Member at Large and Vice President with the MRA. Doug began climbing in the Washington Cascades in 1992 and enjoys alpine ascents, mixed climbing, and backcountry skiing. Professionally he is a Program Manager at a cloud-based software company in Seattle. |
![]() Dr. Alison Sheets – Vice President | (303) 819-5322 PO Box 3004 Eldorado Springs, CO 80025 SAR TEAM: Rocky Mountain Rescue Group | Dr. Sheets is the medical director and past group leader for Rocky Mountain Rescue Group in Boulder, Colorado, one of the oldest and busiest teams in the MRA. She started with the team in 2006. Alison is the current MRA delegate and vice president of the ICAR MEDCOM as well as past ICAR terrestrial alternate delegate. More locally she recently served as the MRA Rocky Mountain Region Chair and is a lead evaluator for region accreditations. Prior to her rescue career she was a professional mountain guide and ski patroller and continues to avidly pursue these sports. Professionally she works as an emergency physician in a community based hospital in Boulder County since 2008. |
![]() Antonio Arizo Secretary/Treasurer | (818) 404-6172 11338 Balboa Blvd. Granada Hills, CA 91344 SAR TEAM: Ventura County East Valley Search & Rescue Team | Antonio has been a member of the Ventura County Sheriff’s East Valley Search and Rescue Team since 2000 holding the positions of Operations Leader and SAR Academy Coordinator. Previously Antonio was a reserve officer with the Los Angeles Police Department leading an emergency response team for 13 years. Prior to the position of MRA Secretary/Treasurer officer, Antonio was the one of the member-at-large officers. Antonio has held the Chair, Vice-chair, and Secretary/Treasurer positions in the California Region and is one of the senior accreditation evaluators for the region. To pay for his SAR activities, Antonio is an IT database administrator for a global corporation. |

Pearce Beissinger M.S., PA-C, FAPACVS, DiMM, FAWM, AMGA-SPI – Member-at-Large | (971) 998-2347 13095 SE Snowfire Dr Happy Valley, OR 97086 SAR TEAM: Portland Mountain Rescue | Pearce is a Fellow in the Academy of Wilderness Medicine (WMS) and an AMGA Certified Single Pitch Instructor (SPI). He has served on the board of directors for the Appalachian Center for Wilderness Medicine (ACWM), a non-profit organization promoting quality health care in limited resource environments. Pearce has dedicated many years of service to search and rescue teams and has participated in numerous mountain rescues both on the east and west coast. He is currently the Asst. Medical Director of Portland Mountain Rescue (PMR), having previously served as this organization’s president and vice-president. In 2019, he was the conference chair for the MRA National Conference. Pearce also participates in mountain missionary work; He was a team member with Climbing for Christ (C4C) during their Mission-Nepal Expedition 2012 and most recently served as a medical guide with the 2014 and 2015 Equipping Saints for Ministry (ES4M) team during their Nepal mission trip. While he cherishes his time in the mountains, nothing compares to the blessing of his wife and two beautiful children who live with him in Portland, Oregon. |
![]() Michael St. John – Member-at-Large | 415-747-2286 SAR TEAM: Marin County Search and Rescue Unit Leader | Michael joined the Marin County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Unit as an Explorer Scout in 1979 and currently serves as the teams leader. He recently retired as a Battalion Chief with the Mill Valley Fire Department after a 33 year career in the fire service. During the last 40 years he has participated in numerous search and rescue missions across California. Michael currently serves on a all-risk Type 3 Incident Management Team. Michael is a California OES Instructor for Abduction Search Operations and a NASAR MPLI Instructor and helped lead efforts to incorporate technology, safety and best ICS practices into SAR incident management. Michael currently divides his time between family, outdoor adventures and search and rescue. |
